Dr. Hung-Ta Wang joined the School of Physical Science and Technology at ShanghaiTech University, as an Assistant Professor、PI and Faculty Director of Soft Matter Nanofabrication Laboratory in 2016 August.
Dr. Wang earned his B.S. (1999) and Master degree (2001) from Department of Chemical Engineering, National Cheng-Kung University, Taiwan. He earned his Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Florida (2008), under the advisement of Prof. Fan Ren. He conducted postdoc research in the Chemistry Department at University of California-Berkeley (2008-2011), under the advisement of Prof. Peidong Yang. During 2011-2016, he worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at The University of Alabama. His research contributions to the R&D fields are in several areas, including nanostructured thermoelectric materials, multinozzles for electrospray ionization mass spectroscopy, AlGaN/GaN high electron mobility transistor (HEMT)-based chemical and biosensors, ZnO-based sensors and light emitting diodes, and dip pen nanolithography for direct write nanoparticle inks. His research achievements include 59 journal papers, 7 patents (1 grant and 6 pending), 1 book chapter, 11 invited presentations, and several conference/workshop presentations. He and his colleagues were awarded the 2012 R&D 100 Award for their multinozzle array work. He is a member of Materials Research Society (MRS), Electrochemical Society (ECS), and American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE). He serves an independent reviewer for more than 10 different peer-reviewed journals
